1. How do I know if my license is at risk of invalidation?

Check your points balance on the ANTS Points Permis Teleservice (ants.gouv.fr) with your license number and date of birth. If your balance is 6 points or less, you have received or will receive a registered letter known as '48'. If the balance is less than 4 points, invalidation may occur at the next infraction. Act without delay.

2. Can I contest multiple fines at once?

Yes. contestations.fr can handle several cases simultaneously, at a flat rate of €49 per case. In situations of critical balance, we establish a global strategy and prioritize cases according to the urgency of the challenge deadline and the importance of the points at stake.

3. Does contesting a fine really prevent point deduction?

Yes. Point deduction is suspended for the entire duration of the contesting procedure. As long as the public prosecutor or the court has not rendered a final decision, points are not deducted. If the contestation leads to annulment, no points are deducted. If it is rejected, points are deducted on the date of the decision.

4. How much does contesting with contestations.fr cost?

A unique flat rate of €49 per case, with no commitment or subscription, including AI analysis and validation by our experts. In case of multiple cases, each case is handled at the same rate, with a free overall analysis of your situation.

5. What are the deadlines for contesting?

45 days from receipt of the notice of contravention. For an increased fine, an additional 30 days from the dispatch of the AFM. These deadlines run even if you have not yet checked your points balance – so it is essential to act quickly upon receipt of each notice.

6. What happens if the contestation is rejected?

If rejected by the public prosecutor, you can either pay the fine (and points are deducted), or be summoned to the local court for an adversarial hearing. The penalty cannot be increased solely because of the contestation. In case of a hearing, contestations.fr can refer you to a partner lawyer if the stakes justify it.

7. Can I take a point recovery course at the same time as I contest?

Yes. The road safety awareness course and contesting fines are two independent and complementary procedures. The course allows you to recover up to 4 points once per calendar year. If you successfully contest a fine, the corresponding points are not deducted – and your capital recovered by the course is preserved.

8. How does online contesting work with contestations.fr?

Online submission of the case, AI analysis of each fine, validation by our experts, drafting of the reasoned contestation, transmission within deadlines. For multi-case situations, we establish a contesting schedule and follow you until the final decision on each case.

9. What documents are needed to contest?

For each fine: the notice of contravention, the vehicle registration certificate. Depending on the situation: any useful conclusive evidence (proof of vehicle sale, medical certificate, proof of absence, testimony...). contestations.fr will precisely indicate the documents to provide for each case.

10. Can I contest after paying a fine?

Not in the ordinary procedure: payment implies recognition of the infraction and points are definitively deducted. In case of a manifest error — license plate usurpation, incorrect identity, serious procedural defect — a judicial appeal remains possible. This is why it is essential not to pay any fine without prior analysis when the points balance is critical.

11. Can I be accompanied by an expert or a lawyer via contestations.fr?

contestations.fr provides administrative assistance combining AI and human expertise. For situations involving road offenses, ongoing legal proceedings, or drivers whose license is already invalid, we will refer you to one of our partner lawyers specializing in road law, who can, among other things, request a stay of execution of the suspension or contest the invalidation before the court.
